Lizz Grace Design is a one woman show. Owner Lizzie Grace Christie designs, illustrates, constructs, prints, models and ships out all the merchandise seen on this website. Beyond that Lizzie is an active student- currently studying at the Kansas City Art Institute to obtain a Bachelors in Fibers/ Textiles.
Being a California Coast native, the ocean and nature are a heavy influence on her work. Lizz Grace Design is Lizzie's creative attempt to bring the natural world to fashion. An industry littered with environmentally and socially unsound loose ends. Sourcing made in America apparel, as well as hand constructing garments is one way that Lizzie goes about mending some of the loose threads. Furthermore, her work features hand drawn illustrations of endangered species. Lizzie's intention is to have her clothing function as fashion forward/ environmentally forward subliminal messaging to the masses.
" There is no doubt that visual imagery influences us as humans. Whether be it a photo, painting, or person wearing something great. It all creates a mental impact on us, that in turn shapes our present and future decisions. If my clothes can persuade an unknown onlooker to think about polar bears more often. Then perhaps the next time they want to drive somewhere they'll walk instead. " - L.G.C.
Now the story behind Yeti Dolls:
The creation of them was something I never thought to occur. The first and original Yeti Doll is actually a giant marionette doll, that I made for my final project in a 3-D art class.
I got an A on that final, and my teacher fell in love with my Yeti creation. My roommates also fell in love with the yeti. As well as, begged me to make them all one. So the idea sparked in my head to sell them… and thus the Yeti Doll was born.
Yeti Dolls have really helped me establish this Etsy shop. Although I sell the majority of them through local boutiques in my county.
